Finally have my DM2000 up and running....with its original hardware and software. Now, I only have the manuals that came with my parts machine, would like to find out about learning this language in more depth...does anyone have an ol' thick textbook kicking around? Or is there a CAD / CAM package that will work with this language? Be aware that this is not a G & M code setup. Thanks, Tom |

I have a Dynalan programming manual. I know a few owners that still use it. I tried, but the communications problem is what made the decision to retrofit. There's no way I'm hand punching in 990 lines of code. Timothy

Tom your software is called SKIP control I think. Since you do have the DYNACOM.EXE you should be able to upload or download any file to your machine. You might have to change the file extension to either .pgd or .txt. I run BobCad V23 it has a post processor for the Dyna DM 2400 that outputs the conversational programming language your machine runs. In fact as of today I have been able to upload and or download directly to my controller with out any Dyna software. I do have to change the wiring to do each process at the moment but those are set up issues I think. I was using some software included in my BobCad called Predator. Dyna has not been really any help in the interfacing but I dont blame them. Are you using an original cable of theirs between your machine and pc? A DB9-DB25? I would love to know how its pins are set up. Does 1 go to 1, 2 to 2 or does 2 go to 3 etc. I think it might tell me some specific information I need. What is your checksum? I really dont know much about their software but it does look straight forward to use, you can see what it is doing on the lines. I will help if I can.

My DM4000/DM4400 manual is both the operating and programming manual lumped together like yours. It has 18 sections and a total of 188 pages. The most interesting part is section 13, 'DYNAMYTE RS232-C communication software packages'. It has all sorts of info for all the models including the lathes. However there is alot of penciled over corrections. Especially the com2 port BD25 to the DB-9 cable. I'll scan the whole section and post it tomorrow. Timothy

Tim, thanks I did read thru it. Does nobody use this Dynalan anymore? Does anyone run it on a late model windows computer. I would like a copy of the software to write from my pc and not from the controller. Someone did give me a copy of dynacom.exe but not knowing enough about how to load or use things via DOS, I just have it filed. Does it have to be used on a 386 or less?
