Anyone got the 3000 and a 3000H?

I want to know some comparative information. Are the spindle housings the same? I am betting they are. The 3000 uses an A2-2 taper spindle the H an A2-4. I believe the machines bodies are the same.

There are differences. I don't have both though. The 3000H is heavier built. From what I know, the 3000H has alarger spindle bore, I think 1-3/8 vs .750 for the 3000. The 3000H can use 5C collets, and the three I have have a pnematic drawbar. The spindle is a A2-4. The tool turret is slightly different between the two. The main difference is the ID toolholders. The 3000 uses block that bolt onto flats on the OD of the tooling plate. The 3000H's tooling plate is round. The ID toolholders have a flange that blots into the slot of the tool plate. The 3000H is fully enclosed. The 3000 is open on the tialstock end. There are other differences too.

Thanks for the follow up. I was really curious regarding the bearing housing for the spindle. I suspect the 2 models run the same casting just different bearings and spindles. According to the specs I can find, the DM3000 runs an A2-2 spindle. I happened across a Buck chuck that I bought and it bolts up to the original flange. I havent measured the runout but the original spindle adapter doesnt have the collar the buck chuck adjusts off center against. It would be simple enough to turn the original adapter but then there is no turning back. I would rather find an A2-2 backing plate to modify. I cant seem to locate 1. I was looking at all possibilities on maximum thru hole on the spindle originally and will consider it if the parts fall into place but I do have plenty to learn to rectify what I have. Thanks again
