We have a DM3300 that we are in the process of upgrading to a Mach3 control system. We have all the Manuals. They include: Mitsubishi CNC Meldas L3 Programming Manual, Maintenance Manual, Instruction Manual, AC Servo MR-S10 Maintenance Manual, and schematics of the machine. We could put them up for sale on eBay if you are interested.

Because I want to retrofit the machine.

I'll check tomorrow to see whether Meldas 500 is the same as L3.

I yanked everything in the control cabinet but the Freqrol inverter
and that is probably going too. It's just too old. The Mitsubishi
Meldas system seems to be a dead end branch in the evolution
    of CNC.

Upgrading the motion control is easy. It is the tool changer that's
a challenge. It's not as critical with a lathe. At least for what we
    plan on using it for.

What are you thinking to upgrade with.

    Mach3, Centroid, servo, stepper.

I can't tell what the relationship is between L3 and 500.

I do have a manual for Meldas AC servo MR-S10 Series
    that may be useful.

It has pinouts for the encoders.

    Hi ROAD75,

I replied over on the mach3 site.
Why do you want to retrofit this machine? Is it not working?

He He if you think that machine is very old, Then my 1983 Hardinge must be ancient! That machine is somewhere around 1995 and looks to be in decent shape.

Personally, I would repair the existing Mitsubishi Industrial control and make money/ parts with it.

Thank you Rich, for your time.

I think is OK, I don´t have problems with upgrade the machine or using Mach3. For now, i need to replace the MELDAS and search about different brands of controllers advantege, disadvantage and Cost.

    Ja ja hello again A1CNC,
Yes my machine didn't work u.u

Well the detail it's that I think the MELDAS is damage and my boss suggested me replace all of it with a new cheap version of controllers. I'd rather have a comparison chart between brands about specifcations and costs, for do a report and then my boss can choose which is the best... BUT... if you have advices about how i can fixed it with any kind of manual or where to begin, I'm all ears

    Hi Road75,
I may be able to help. I had to do some repairs on my machine that has the Meldas 520. Lets start with what the machine does and does not do.

I did notice the mitsubishi site is hard to find anything on now. It used to be much easier to find ALL the info on the 520 like troubleshooting and such.

Question Re: HELP!!! DYNA MYTE DM4800C VMC

Well, this is what i have found for now, about MELDAS serie 500

Mitsubishi CNC MELDAS 500M Series Instruction Manual - CNC Manual
Mitsubishi CNC MELDAS 500 Series Maintenance Manual Hardware - CNC Manual

And about... the machine the last I knew was that the controllers were on but the CNC didn't response with any comand. Please tell me which tests can be performed to find the root cause or about what i need to search.

Ok on page 14 of the maintenance manual you posted is a good place to start checking the trouble with the machine. There will be some indication of what is wrong.

It could be as simple as a fuse. I had a wire break on one of the limit switches and the machine wouldn't move until I fixed it.

I would print those manuals if you don't have a copy of them.

    Ok thank you A1,

Let me try it but i don't think is something as easy as change a fuse or fix a wire because other people with more experience try to fixed it.
But i'll do and then relpy you what happend

Also better clarify once and for all that... mmm i don't know the word in english but I'm like a student or a trainee in the factory and this is the first time that i have a project out of the Univesity.

    Hi Road75,

There is a fuse on the CRT display. It is just above the plug labeled AC. You will see a round black fuse holder. Check that 1st.

Do you have a voltmeter and know how to use it? If so unplug the AC plug and test to see that there is AC voltage at that plug after you press the power on green button on the front panel.

I believe the english word you mentioned before is Intern.

Hehe, I forgot to mention that also I had already tested the fuse and the voltage in the AC plug. Here is a picture when the front panel is already on, but the display

Another thing, I see that the plug J3 has a resistor conected, Is this ok? or What should be here?

    Thank you again A1CNC

    Just looked at mine,
There is a resistor there on mine as well. Also on mine, I can check the voltage with the plug still connected because the terminals are exposed enough to touch the meter leads to the terminals.HELP!!! DYNA MYTE DM4800C VMC-imag0006-jpg

If you have voltage there but still no Image, you will need to have the monitor repaired/ replaced before you can get any further.
