Could be BSP?
I pulled this off my Dyna 2400 I am trying to get back up and running. Most of the oil fittings are missing and I need to know what types of fittings they are.
The fittings that go into part of the oil reserve had these on them. I can get a 1/4 NPT fitting to screw a few threads in but then it gets tight.
So this fitting is 1/4 some thing...not sure what? Is it JIC?

Could be BSP?
Agree. Looks like BSP. I believe BSP is about 1/2 a pitch different. If the sealing is done via the thread surfaces, there is really on 2 common possibilities NPT or BSP.
JIC is a straight thread with the sealing done on the 37 degree flare surface. SAE flare is similar but has 45 degree flare.
If this is on the lube system it most likely has 4mm or 5/32 tubing. Some of the brass fittings you see are metering devices to control the flow and have numbers stamped on the hex.. If so do a search for Bijur lube system, that are the most popular.

Should be easy to check, how many threads per inch it has
1/8 NPT is 27 TPI
1/4 NPT is 18 TPI
3/8 NPT is 18 TPI
1/8 BSP is 28 TPI
1/4 BSP is 19 TPI
3/8 BSP is 19 TPI
JIC fittings
5/16 to 3/8=24 TPI
7/16=20 TPI

It's 1/8-BSPP
My DM4400 uses British Standard straight thread to plumb the entire oiling system.
Use teflon tape or Loctite 567 to seal the threads.
Watch out for the die cast 'T' fittings, they break really easily.
I should make a production run of them out of billet aluminum, I broke two just last week.

bspp usually has a sealing surface at the base of the thread. often used with some type of sealing ring. the picture posted looks like tapered threads
It would really depend on what type of fitting this is.
Mine are all side fittings that need to be aligned to the next port. Most likely the reason they are BSPP.
Not a single one was threaded down to the base of the thread.
Could we get some more pics of this fitting and maybe the other fittings your trying to identify?

Timothy,
Greetings again from the great southern land.
Re those rotten die cast "T" fittings, Yep, I replaced all mine - a couple broke and the rest were cracked. You sound very like myself in that I will make anything rather than buy it but in this case you may be going a bit over the top. I can buy these fittings even here in Australia the land of you can't get anything here! I paid about $2.00 per T, plus about as much again for a pair of olives and tube nuts. Hardly worth the effort of setting up and you sure could not sell them for much even if you made hundreds. Thread in these fittings is 8*1 metric. The ones I got were made by "Ishan". Oil tube size is 4 mm OD 2 mm ID (made by Legris). Part # for "T" was 14-PKD04
Strange that your Dyna uses BSP threads - every thread, bolt, screw, and fitting on my Dyna is metric - did you change yours?
Martin Old foundry men never die they just cast off
Here are some photos of the fittings, quite often you will find metric threads for these fittings also, most likely why they are cracking, is because the wrong fittings have been use

Here is a PDF of the most common machine oil/line fittings used

Finally had a chance to work on my machine again.
Does any one who owns one of these machines know what kind of fitting they are for sure?
Any good places to order some of these types of fittings?
