I have encountered a problem that I cannot solve, and in need of much help. I currently am trying to perfect spinning wood baseball bats. I was at the point where I could spin a final product, when one day after a spinning I noticed that the bat was cut to deep at the handle and barrel. Finished product measurements are as follows: Knob: 2 inches in Diameter Handle: 1 inch in D Barrel: 2.625 inch in D Current problem with results: Knob: 1.82 inch in diameter Handle: 1 inch in D Barrel: 2.45 inch in D I have created a test run in Dolphin, with the same diameter throughout the piece to make sure that I am center. I can achieve that, but when I run my program for the wood bat I receive the results with the diameter off. Does anyone know why this may be happening. Thanks, Minna |

| Hello Minna, Is the work being done with the same tool along the length of the bat? Is it possible that there is some backlash in the cross-slide? If the part size seems good when the cross-slide is not being used(like in your test part) I would be tempted to think the deviation is related to the cross-slide of the lathe. Regards,
