    Woodruff Keyseat Cutters?

Is there a way to define these in Dolphin CAM?

    Woodruff cutters

    Sort of.

You can't define them using CAM but you can create a drawing of the tool and then use this to visualise the toolpath.

I have attached a drawing that shows what you need to do (rename it from .txt to .dra), bascially draw the tool to the correct sizes, create a contour called Tip of the shape with the datum point at the bottom of the tool in the centre. Create text as shown with the correct values and save this drawing to the following folder:-

    For Win XP C:\Program files\DolphinCadcam\ApplicationData

    For Vista C:\ProgramData\DolphinCadcam\Drawings

When you go into CAM and define the tool you will see at the bottom of the dialgue box a window for Drawing name, this is the name of the drawing you have just created. Select the drawing and you will see it in the graphics window.

Check that all the parameters are filled out correctly, you may need to set the correct ool type (it might default to drill).

I will some more examples in the files section.

You can create any shape tool with multiple contours, one of which MUST be named Tip, BUT this will only serve as a visual representation of the tool.

This feature is more useful in Turning but can be used for Milling.

I'll attach the rest of the files to this message in a zip.
