Post processor language

I've been able to get my head around a few of the other CAD/CAM post processors to tweak them. Dolphin still remains greek to me. What format does it use, and is there a better book than the help files?

I've been opening up other .ppr files to see how they are different and what makes them different. While some things make sense after a fashion, other things make me want to punch the guy that chose this format.

Help me ObiWan, you're my only hope. If I ever get a handle on this language I'll be a god.

The post processor doesn't use a computer langauge like Basic. It is an interpreter. The CAM systems produces a neutral CLD (cutter loacation data) files that is then read-in by the post processing module along with the post processor file, and interprets the CL data according to instructions it finds within the post file.

The main parts are the Words section that defines the format of each word output, Xword=XDDD.dddd indicates that the X word can have 3 places in front of the decimal point and four behind.

The Macro section allows a short hand method (#X= $Xaxis:Xword - indicates that when a X axis value is to be ouput, it uses the current value for the X axis and is formattwd as described in the Words section) this saves typing in the Rules section

The Rules section actually does the work, it contains a number of instructions that are carried when it receives data contained within the CLD file.
