Hi Wes,

I can't figure it out either... I'm no IT guy, but I do know how to search for typical files, and delete them.

If I get a chance I'll call Rodney later today to see if he shipped my CD yet.

Thanks,

Kevin

SERVER BUSY ERROR MSG

Has anyone found a cause/Fix for this problem yet? I too am having the same problem. I can not generate a Toolpath for an Area Clear and only sometimes for a Goround? Very frustrating. I am using Partmaster Level 3. The Unicode files do not reside anywhere on my system? I have a 1 year old Dell XPS system with 4GB of Ram, an Intel Quad Core 2.6GHZ Proc and a pair of Nvidia 8800GTX video cards. The OS is Windows XP Media Center Edition. I am thinking it is possibly a hardware compatability issue? Maybe those of you that are still experiecing this issue could post youre Hardware configuration and we can find a common denominator?

Thanx
JP

Hello,
I believe the sever is executed when DCAD is going to bring up the window showing the posted code. Are you posting code from DCAD or sending it to DCAM to post the code JP? If you are trying to post from the CAD side perhaps you can try sending it to the CAM and posting the code from there and at least if it will run there you will be able to get some workable code until the problem is resolved. I may be wrong and you could still get the server error, but it's worth a try if you haven't done it this way already. Let us know if this works.
Regards,

SERVER BUSY MSG

Hi, I dont think I am Posting any Code. All I am doing is creating a Contour and adding a Toolpath? Check the reply I left for you under my "Vista Compatability" post. I created the drawing as per the Tutorial and then I can create a Contour but when I try to add a Toolpath as per the Tutorial thats when Dcad Freezes and returns the Server Busy Msg. it is Tutorial 3-adding Toolpath and here is the URL. http://www.dolphincadcamusa.com/Tutorials.html
Thanks
JP

SERVER BUSY

When i try to add a Toolpath and the "Contour machining properties" window opens, at the bottom where it says "Generate G-code?" I am selecting "Not now" When you say "Send' the drawing to Dcam first, do you mean "Export" the drawing? If i save it as a drawing with only the contour applied and save it as a .dra file Dcam will not open it "Class not registered" click OK then "partmaster CAD is not installed (or has never been run) on this system. Please run partmaster Cad before trying again) You may need to re-install the software" is displayed ?
thanx

Hi JP,
The tutorial is for creating a toolpath and posting the g-code within the Partmaster CAD program. You have Level 3 which includes the CAM program and more options for creating tool libraries and toolpaths. From the CAD program you can load the same part from the tutorial and create contours to be exported to the CAM for creating the toolpaths there. I am hoping this will eliminate the need for the server as the CAM engine will be loaded when you send the contours to the milling module.
With the part file loaded in DCAD click the NC button on top tool bar, then click the NC Contour button(creates a contour to be sent to the CAM for creating toolpaths), it will prompt you to select the start point etc. When the contour has been created select 'Machining' from the top toolbar, and select Milling Module from the drop down menu. This will load the CAM program and the contours from the CAD will be drawn there.
You will probably have to set up your machine and define a tool for the job, but this will need to be done anyway and you can save the defined tools and load them when the CAM is loaded. Try this to see if it avoids the server busy problem, and let me know if it works or if you have some more questions.
Regards,

SERVER BUSY

What is it they say about a "Barn Door" ? That works perfectly. Rodney had actually suggested this in an email, but I was not understanding exactly how to get there until you walked ( carried ) me through it. Sorry for all the repetitive posts!! I will get the hang of this sooner or later!
Thank you Wes
and
Thank You Rodney

Hi JP,
No problem, I am glad I was able to help you move forward with Partmaster. It is a very capable program with many features, but I still think they need to look into this 'Server Busy' error and find a viable fix for it. Glad this sending contours to the CAM will be a work around it for you, but people with Level 1 and 2 still need a fix. I hope you are able to make some chips real soon and post some pictures of your work here on the Dolphin forum.
