Engraving with Dolphin

Rodney, how can I engrave with Dolphin?

I only need simple centerline fonts, but something other than the block font built into my mill controller.

Do you need true type fonts that are currently in your computers operating system or do you need stick fonts?

I need a true type font. It has be decorative, something similar to Script MT on the computer.

My mill has basic block software. Is stick font the same as block font?

Engraving

A true type font is any font on your computer. You don't have a centerline though. It is outline of each letter using your selected font from your compter. Stick fonts are center line fonts that use one line to create the letter that you are using. Dolphin has a few of these stick fonts and here is how you find them. Under the "View" menu go down to "Text Gallery". Then when the next window pops up choose "New" listed on the right hand side. In the next window you will see a choice for "Stroke" Fonts or also called stick fonts. This should help decide what you want. Please let me know if I can be of any more help.

I'm off home in a bit, but engraving with Dolphin I found to be dead easy- will post again tomorrow now that I got subscribed.

Here's a couple I did.

[/Edit]Ah, got it... go into the CAM bit of Dolphin and hit MACHINING up the top then ENGRAVE. Dead easy

I have to agree with ImanCarrot. I read his post the other day and decided to give it a try since he commented how easy it was to use. I did several engravings in some black delrin and had great results from the very first try.
The first one I did I had checked the box to engrave inside the character and found that the characters were too small and it better to not check the engrave inside the character box for this small of an engraving. Ease of use, lots of options, and I did several fonts with great results! I'll have to do something better and then I will post some pictures.
Wes
