In the process

I have purchase a X-2 mini mill and am in the process of converting it to a CNC machine.

The only software for any of this that I currently own in a copy of MACH 3 as the machine is not done yet, I have not used it either.

Some type of drawing program would be really handy right about now as I need to draw up the designs for the motor and bearing mounts. Will dolphin do this and than convert it for the MACH 3?

I'm a Hobbyist so at this point cost will be a concern.

Thanks

Smitty

Yes not only will Dolphin handle all your geometry and cam needs, we have all Mach posts completed. We shake very well with Mach. Last but not least, we support hobby customers just as much as machine shop customers so we do help out with price quite a bit.

Ok, which one?

I will not be making any really complex parts in the near future. Text, Counter bores, Holes, etc.

Which Mill package would you recommend?

I'd reccomend Level 2, then you can always bump up if need be. That's the safest bet.

How much?

I looked at the site and the one listed for Hobby is level 1 I believe at $195 and the level 2 is $595, is that correct?

What does level 2 buy me? As I am new to all of this, I need plain English not machine speak.

If I start with the level 1 will the level 2 price upgrade be $400?

Thanks

Smitty

The differences between 1 & 2 are dramatic compared to the differences between 2 & 3. There's many features that are added. I will send you a PM shortly.
