| Give Dolphin CAD/CAM a Chance A lot of you guys know me as Chad Clark with BobCAD-CAM Inc. Well I am sorry to say that I am no longer with BobCAD. Dolphin is new to the USA, but you will find that the price and the capabilities you get for that price are more than comparable with today's industry. Well, I just wanted to let you guys know what was going on with me and let you know if there are any questions I will be glad to help. Check out the Website: http://www.dolphincadcamusa.com Thank You, Chad Last edited by Dolphin USA; 02-11-2008 at 11:21 PM. Reason: Web address changed |

| Nice to see you here again Chad. We have missed you. I checked out Dolphin CAD CAM and think it looks great. It looks like it really packs some punch in capabilities. As a consultant myself I would say that anyone looking for a Contender will find what they need in Dolphin CAD CAM. BTW: You forgot to Call me . I'll drop you a line tomorrow.

| What file formats does Dolphin Support? Does the system support STL? I downloaded the demo, but only found that it would import dxf and geo files. Thanks |

| Well it depends on what you are doing. If your doing 2D or 2.5D work, all you would need to import is DXF files. If your doing 3D work, you would need to download 3D CAM which will allow you to bring in multiple different files including the STL. Let me know if this helps at all. |

| It kind of helps, but I tried downloading the 3D demo and I kept getting redirected to your main page. I was just looking at it for fun, I don't have a use for it right now, so don't place too much attention on it. Thanks Rodney and tell Chad I said hey. I thought he was coming down in January but he never called. Regards P.S. What file formats does Dolphin support, or do you have a link to a page that tells the supported formats and which versions they are supported in? |

| Yes, 3D CAM can import the following...IGES - DXF - STL - VRML – X_T (Parasolid) - Postscript - 3DM (Rhino models..... Partmaster 2D and 2.5D will bring in all your dxf files. Hang on tight though because before too long, we'll be releasing our very new addition of 2D & 3D CAD/CAM. The 2D will come first, then 3D is still being developed. BTW, who is this, lol? |

| used dolphin for about 5 yrs now for 2,5 d cannot fault it very nice easy to understand even 3d stuff is good with a bit of practise also use edgecam ......now for the money edgecam is a monster but there are still times when i want to do a simple contour and edge-cam wont do it dolphin sorts it. i run a hiedenhain 430 controlled hermle c800v and 2 interacts with 151 controls the 3d surfacing stuff (big programs)run on the hermle the smaller (less than 1000 blocks code) stuff is run on the interacts i still run a lot of dolphin generated programs on the £100k hermle machine |

| Response has been great, the only thing lacking as of right now is the 3D graphical interface which will be upgraded soon. With that aside, the fact of getting from CAD to Code is the biggest concern and the program sure packs alot of power to get that transition quickly and smoothly.
