CAM choices ... Dolphin?

Friends,

I'm looking at purchasing either Dolphin Partmaster Pro or CamBam Plus for my Bridgeport Interact w/ Heidenhain 151B. I have been tooling around the CNCZone forums and their respective online forums for a couple of days ... both seem to have rich communities with quick responses.

I'd love to hear from this forum any positives and negatives with Dolphin with the Heidehain controllers, 151B specifically. I definitely want the ability to do some 3D contouring. Further, I have aspirations of doing a 4th, rotary axis, so having some capability with a rotary is desirable.

Is Dolphin the right package with which to get started? Note that I have some experience with G-code programming, but its been years ...

Dolphin Pro is an excellent software package that I have grown to love. I demod cambam some time back and it just didnt seem like the package for me. However if you are looking to do 3d contouring, dolphin may not be the package for you. I think the current release does 2.5d, not full 3d. I do use a 4th axis as well.

i love my dolphin mill and turn. takes a little bit to learn how to use it but when i did i just snow-balled into doing crazy stuff with it.
