They have 2.5D cam in canned cycles and no 3D CAD. The canned cycles are good, just need more capability. It's been a while since they've had a new release. Seems like ones about due. Who is the closest competitor, and how do they compare in features and price?

And they aren't trying to sell it too much, rather offering Mecsofts' Visual mill currently...which is pretty nice, but they refused to tweak my conversational postprocessor, which Dolphine didn't mind doing.

I hope they come up to speed with an improved package this time...3D CAD and CAM is the expected now. Would you guys pay a modest annual fee for better tech support and updates? I imagine it's hard to keep growing and improveing without some cash-in flow from currently installed seats. I would if they offered a good package...

In a sense but they have always answered my questions fairly quickly. Look at Mach 3, the only support you get there is forums. I imagine if they had support at mach 3 the price certainly would go up.

I'm pretty frustrated with dolphin. They sent me on a wild goose chase with mecsoft over visuals 3d. I've had trouble getting files to transfer to to the cam side for a few days now...I tried to read the downloaded videos but they only make it half way thru and quit. Support says to study the online ones instead, but I cant get them to come up with a firewall...asked them to send them to me, no luck....frustrating.... guess I 'll try to get them from home with no firewall.
They did tweak my post promptly, so credit needs to be given for that.

Ken
