DMM servo install
Here is what I've been up to an old Moog Hydra-point converted with DMM servo 1kw at 2:1 on the knee and 750 watt at 1:1 on x and y

Re: DMM servo install
That looks pretty cool. I'm not familiar with your particular model, so would you mind answering a few questions?
1. Is the knee designed to be driven like that?
2. Is there a ball screw for the knee?
3. What's on the other side of the knee crank? Just the stock bevel gear?
4. Is there anything else to support the knee (pneumatics, springs, etc.)?
Thanks in advance!

Re: DMM servo install
No the knee was not design that way my thoughts were to do it this way instead of the quill I wanted to keep it separated which gives me both option plus driving the knee gives me around 12" on Z and manual quill. There is no ball screw but I thinking of this as one of the upgrades do to some noise in the Z positive direction plus my motor then would have to go back and have a brake installed but for right now it work, I also have just stock bevel gears. The only thing I've changed since this has been done is to move my Z axis from 2:1 to 3:1 and both X & Y 1:1 to 2:1 I fine everything runs smoother and now that DMM technology has auto tune my setup works nice.
