    Default DYN3 lost phase fault

I was bench testing my DYN3s and 750W DST servos last night with the drive tuning software. Servos on the bench, no load. Power was with only 120 V, as I wasn't in my shop near 240 outlets. When running constant speed, the drives would fault consistently, just over 2600 rpm with a lost phase fault. Should I be concerned? This is shy of the 3000 rpm rated speed, and well short of the 5000 rpm no load speed I was expecting from these servos.

    Thanks,
    -Steve

DMM tech support answered this question for me. It's a bit embarrassing, as an engineer, as I should have noted the servos name plate power is 200 V. DC machines tend to have a linear relationship with voltage, and that held here.

I took a drive and servo out to my shop, where I have lots of 240 V outlets. Sure enough, 5000 rpm (and a bit more) with no problem. Also, the servo was able to do a lot more aggressive moves without faulting the drive. Success!

    Windscreen

I did not see your question until just now, voltage has a habit of tricking people,I have used some Dyna3 and lots of there Dyna2 Drives, that used to run with 48v with the same motors, that you have, there are lots of people that had a hard time trying to figure out what was wrong, when they could not get to the motor max RPM, you won't be the last to think that there may be a problem
