1 year anniversary of my first cut and new project!

Hard to believe I cut my first part one year ago today.

I thought I'd post about the newest project. The machine is running while I type this.

This the initial concept for a light. On the left is a screen capture of of some of the tool paths I ran today. I will continue to update www.grunblau.com

This was the first step, I cut out the 2D shapes and glued them to the layer underneath. Front shapes are roughed in and ready for the finish pass.

I then flipped the piece over and ran the rough pass for the rear.

I took the top layer off and began the rough pass for the interior.

That's it for today! This weekend was the first time I had two days off in a row for almost four months!

Congrats, Nice machine! I've been meaning to try some big sweeping curves like those. Maybe tomorrow I will, gotta make a few plywood reindeer first.

As always Grunblau, you're doing interesting shapes and pushing the envelope! BW, what CAD package are you using? That's a very nice render, looks like some global lighting in the process.
