Mach3 to control the machine and Vectric's Cut2D to create the g-code.
i built myself a pretty simple micro controller based 3- axis mill a couple years ago, and ran out of processor and variable space so it just sits. i want to build another one but bigger and use something like MACH2 or something where i can just use a breakout board and my PC using step and direction commands. OK, if anyone can point me in the right direction for a software program, i'd be greatful. what i want to do is make a cnc router to do light foam part cutting, so really only need 2 axis control, and i want to be able to import PDF and line drawing files and scale them and cut. light duty, acurate to with in .030" is pleanty good enough, really basic. any help? thanks
