    Gantry Alignment

While I was wiring the motors in my new CNC Router machine, I noticed that the Gantry sides are not aligned properly to the table top; when the gantry is resting at the end of table stops, the right side touches the stop while the left side is off by ¼”. The table top is 36”x 48”

I can fix this error but I would rather not spend the time if it is not critical or perhaps I can make adjustments with MACH3 to correct this misalignment

Shim up your bearings until the table runs true. This will reduce wear on your actuating components as well and allow you to run the machine without zeroing both axes every time you start up the machine.

If you leave it the way it is then when trying to cut a square/rectangle shape you will actually cut a rhombus (pushed over square/rectangle)

Spend the effort to get it right and you won't regret it.

It may be that your frame is catywampus or not square. I would test the cut first to see if they come out square. Then adjust the gantry as needed to achieve perfectly square cuts. Circles could also suffer if it isn't cutting square.
