    Cool chatter

My home made cnc router is producing rough cut in wood always at the same spot ( 2 o`clock and 8 o`clock on a circle) the rest of the cut is nice and smooth.
I suspect the width of my gantry could be the culprit, causing some binding when my router is working at both end of my Y axis.
Is there a rule of thumb for the width of the gantry ?
My table is about 2 feet on Y by 3 on X.

Sounds like mechanical slop. See this post for pictures and solutions.
