    Real quick Gecko/stepper question

Im afraid that by running THESE #RS34-960 motors off of a Gecko G540 that they will need to draw more current than the G540 can output is this true? Thanks so much for your help!

Motors can't draw more current then the drive can handle. The drive regulates the current.

True, but what he said was "they will NEED to draw", not they WILL draw.

Do the calculations to see what their current and voltage needs are and then you can determine if the G540 is appropriate.

You can wire them bipolar series at 3.5amps, or run them bipolar parallel at 3.5 amps, which would give you roughly half their rated torque, as torque is roughly proportional to current. For best performance you'd want to use A Gecko G201, 202, or 203.
