Hello and Happy New year to everyone.
I have been looking for a while for a router bit to use for surfacing the spoil borad of my CNC. My problem is that I don't know what kind of bit (Flycutter, facing mill) I should use. But even if I could decide in something, these bits have a shank larger than what my router can accept.
I have a Kress 1050 router and the largest collet you can have is 10mm. At this size I could not find anything appropriate for surfacing.
Can someone help me on this problem I have?
Thank you in advance.
Looks like you might be stuck using a regular end mill bitt with a 10mm shank. Get the biggest size bit you can get and go with that. Gonna be time consumming doing a full 4 x 8 sheet of MDF unless your machine is smaller than that. Mine is 5 x 13 and would take for ever. I use a 4 in dia. flycutter with 3/4 in shank. Only takes a couple min. to do a 4 x 8 sheet.
