    shaft couplers do i need

    Hello i was wondering if i need flexible shaft couplers from the motor to the lead screw if both ends are suported on pillow block bearings the longest screw would be 30 inches

    I suppose it depends on how accurate your machining and mountings are. I always use flexible couplers as it makes this part of the job easier.

    If the alignment is not absolutely perfect, you could have some binding with out them. Flexible couplers allow for slight misalignment.
