    Iowa Anyone?

Hey folks, was just thinking I should check and see if there are any fellow diy cnc builders in the state of Iowa? I'm at school at ISU and DMACC. I live in Ames. So anyone around the area I would love to get together with local cncers. I just moved to Iowa back in June. Still adjusting to it.

    Thanks folks,
    Evan

    Des Moines

    Hey Evan,
I am from Des Moines!! I am about half way through a Bridgeport cnc conversion after building a cnc plasma table. What kind of cnc projects you have going on right now?
    Later,
    Aaron

    Evan,

I am in Cedar Falls. I have a 2.5 x 11 x 25 homebuilt cnc router using a Rotozip for a spindle. It is running EMC2 software on Ubuntu. I cut out balsa RC airplane parts and some sign work. I have done a few projects using Compufoil and CAMBAM to produce the g-code.

Nice nice, good to know there are more of us. It's good to see there are more of us. Quad cities is a trip but not to bad none the less. Aaron (TiggerAaron) and I have been doing alot of work together. My 2'X3'X6" metal maching is close to done. We have been wanting to put together an Iowa group, thinking of doing a few get togethers a year and just geek out like us CNCers do. How far is everybody from Ames IA? I know for most of you is't a good ride, but why not huh?
