    leadscrews

    hi all,

i hope someone can help. i have search the forums for a while now for info on leadscrews. i am looking build a foamcutter (i have already posted in that forum and was direct here) and possibly a 3 aixs router. i would like to know of anywhere within the UK that sells leadscrews or a supllier that would ship easily to the uk.

i think i want 1/2-10 screws. do they come as complete assemblies? eg leadscrew, nut, support bearings??

    thanks in advance

    nick

Try www.worldofcnc.com (formely marchantdice.com). I got all my ballscrews from them and some linear rails, support bearings etc. They are one of europes biggest suppliers of linear motion hardware. Service is good and prices are ok. You'll find lead screws in the trapezoidal section. You would need to buy nuts and support bearings as extras. They offer an end machining service too. Check out the ballscrews too, you may find the price is not much greater than leadscrews. Kevin is the man to speak too, very knowledgable about all his products and suitable applications.

    Hope this helps

Edit: They are based in Devon
