    Bishop Wisecarver DualVee Wheels

I was considering using Bishop Wisecarver's DualVee system for a gantry router.

I'm looking at using the T2 or TS2 rail on all axes, and a sufficient amount of rail will cost about 200$

Are there any cheaper wheel options? At 21$ per wheel that gets spendy in a hurry (I think I would need 24 wheels)

    Thanks.

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. I HAVE USED THE DUAL-V ROLLERS IN OUR WIRE STRAIGHTENERS, AND I HAVE LITERALY MILLIONS OF MILES OF WIRE RUN THROUGH THEM, SOME UNDER VERY HIGH LOAD, AND I HAVE YET TO SEE ONE FAIL. WE HAD GONE THOUGH MANY OTHER BRANDS AND TYPES WITH VARIED SUCESS, BUT NONE COMPARE TO THE DUAL-V.

If you need less than 36" travel for any of the axis, you should be able to get THK-style rails and bearings on Ebay for less money. I picked up 18" THK's for $50. There are plenty available well suited for a Z-axis for under $100. Even 36" ones can be had for the same price as the DualVee's. I'd go with the BW for anything over 36", unless you can find a good deal on those as well.

I'm looking at about 62 inches of X rail for a 48" travel on a moving gantry, so the Bishop looks right for that. I then need about 32 inches for a 24 inch Y. I looked at the THK stuff last night and need to spend some time figuring out their numbering system before I buy.

    I see you using 8 for your X axis - 4 for the Y and 4 for the Z = 16

I have also gone down the dual V road. I cant speak from a long time of experience but I was surprised it how smooth they ran even on the edge of angle iron. I can push the gantry from one end to the other with one push and it glides happily the 8 foot distance.
    Being outside the square !!!

I was looking at 8 an axis, but 4 would probably work on Y and Z. Still spendy compared to the rail.
