    stepper motor driver

    Hi everyone, i have some tip120, and tip142. Does anyone know how to wire them up? i heard that you can use 5804 ic to chop the steps. Does anyone have the pcb layout(artwork) for it? i'm using eagle software.

    i heard that this driver "http://www.electronickits.com/kit/complete/motor/ck1405.htm" is very slow

    Not sure, never used it myself, just thought it could be a good starting point. I did buy the kit, but found a micro stepping chopper board that I ended up with.

    The wiring you need is almost equal to the schematic you can see at

    Cheap Unipolar LPT Driver, High Amperes

    You can take a look at the credited thread and URL too. You only need to wire the TIP1XX where the FETS are wired. Substitute the MOSFETs by the TRNs this way: Gate by Base, Drain by Collector and Source by Emitter. Add a 1K resistor between the 7414 outputs and the base of the TIP1XX.
