G'day all,
Well I'm embarking on my first CNC Router build and I'm having trouble deciding which electronics package deal to go for.
First note that I am an electronics idiot. Second note is location,Hobart, Australia. Because of my location there are no local suppliers of this gear. Nearest "affordable" retailer that I can find is in Queensland, Australia, gee that's only 2,000 km away ! That company sells LOGITROL systems. Other than that my main options are in the USA. I see a lot of people are using Xylotex, so they must be half decent ? They do offer a Plug N Play solution for an attractive price.
Now the dilema, I really like the look of the Logitrol system, and it is sold as an "affordable industrial grade cnc solution" Here is details of the package:-
**3 Axis Stepper Motion controller with 2 internal opto relays**
**High torque 55vdc / 700W Tolroid Power Supply (240vac ONLY)**
**3 / NEMA 270oz.in / 1.8deg. Stepper Motors including pre-wired leads**
**Quickstart CDRom Printer cable and instructional setup leaflet**
So I need some unbiased opinions. Is the extra $$'s well spent ? or do they all do the same thing, but one just looks more professional.
Please help, I'm getting a migraine comparing this with that etc, etc.http://www.cnczone.com/forums/images...s/confused.gif

Good Luck!
I went with CandCNC for a couple of reasons. Tom uses the xlyotex boards and packages it all up nice and neat. No fiddling around mounting boxes, etc. I have had his system for a little over a month and am real pleased with it. This may not be a big thing due to your location, but Tom is really good at answering questions. He has the patience of a saint and knows what he is talking about.
You can locate them on the web at www.candcnc.com
