Question Need some help with my router build

    Hi -

    Q-1 > Routing my wires
What is the least expensive solution for routing all the wires?

I have two steppers on my X-axis. I have 1 stepper on my Y-axis. And 1 stepper on my Z-axis. Then also have the power cord to my Z-axis for the router motor.

    Q-2 > Power supply
I am having determining what size power supply I need?

    I have this board:
    http://www.stepmasternc.com/stepmasternc_009.htm

This is the documentation to the controller board:
    http://www.stepmasternc.com/datasheet4axissop-1.pdf

My Z-axis I have this motor:
    Astrosyn Mini Angle Stepper
    Type 23LM-C004-38
    6.0V/Phase
    1.2 A/Phase
    1.8 deg/step

    My X & Y I have three of these:

    https://home.comcast.net/~brenthub/p...2motordata.pdf

Q-3 > Power supply out put
The documentation says to use a volt metwer to determine output current in section 1.4 of the documentation. I am have trouble figuring out where I am to touch the leads for determining the output current.

Current adjustment is made with the aid of voltometer at test points (TP X, TP Y, TP Z, and TP A). Be sure to make contact with COM probe at COM connection point at VBB INput.

    I have this board:
    http://www.stepmasternc.com/stepmasternc_009.htm

This is the documentation to the controller board:
    http://www.stepmasternc.com/datasheet4axissop-1.pdf

    Thanks -

    1) I wouldn't recommend using the cheapest method possible, but that's just me.
2)The data sheet says 2-6amps. This board appears to use the same chips as a Xylotex, and Xylotex says you shouldn't ever need more than 5amps for their drives. So 6 amps should be good, but more won't hurt you. It probably won't help either, just saying that if you have a 10 amp supply, it'll work fine as well.
    3) from the manual you linked to:
Current adjustment is made with the aid of voltometer at test points (TP X, TP Y, TP Z, and TP
A). Be sure to make contact with COM probe at COM connection point at VBB INput.
The TPX, TPY, TPZ, and TPA are clearly labeled on the first page of the manual, as is the VBB common. Black lead to the VBB common (ground), and red to the TPZ, TPY, TPZ and TPA.

Yeah and they are labeled on the actual board. But I have to be doing something wrong, because I just keep getting same reading regardless of where I put the red lead.

And as for my other question - If I did not go the cheapest route, what is recommended method for the wires? These things are all over the place.

    Thanks

You're turning the pots and the voltage doesn't change? VRX, VRY, VRZ, VRA?

Exactly. So figure I am doing something wrong. But with everything clearly marked - it looks like I am doing right thing by the directions given.

My power supply is one from Radio shack and I get 15.XXXX volts. The XXXX is some value. But showing it is right over 15 volts.

And it is the same no matter how I turn the POT. I will be able to try it again tomorrow (Sunday) and post wha thappens. Today I have to go out and deal with some family stuff.

You are turning the correct pot, right? There are two sets of pots on that board. Not sure wjat the other set does.
