    Z axis/Solsylva

I've pretty much decided to go with 1/2" 10tpi acme lead screw on my x and y axes(I think that's plural for axis), so I was wondering about the leadscrew for my Z axis. Should I just stick with the regular threaded rod for the Z, or do I need to use acme to match the performance of the X/Y? If I go with ACME, should I also use the 1/2" or go to a smaller diamter. I figure the regular thread might be fine due to the smaller travel distances.

Z axis travel is smaller and less frequent than the others. I wouldn't worry about the performance of it on this kind of machine.

I am building the dual leadscrew machine out of steel. I'm hoping it will be rigid enough warrant using bigger steppers on the x/y, and just using the recommended motor on the z axis. Will I face problems using different size motors/drivers or does the control software/electronics handle this fine?
