    Jgro vs the Joe2006

I have a question for the general DIY builder and CNC'r. When I review the two subject machines, I can see the Joe2006 is the superior design, but becuase I wanted to build it myself, I opted for the Jgro. Building with the basic shop tools, the Jgro seemed to be the easier solution.

My question is: How much better is the Joe2006 over the Jgro? The two rails on the X axis and to two torsion boxes look superior. I've got a ways to go yet before finishing my Jgro, but the end is in sight. I figure I can use the Jgro to build the Joe2006 at a later date.

    What do you think?
    Dave

I feel they are both great machines, but Joe just went thru that design and improved anything it may have lacked. As you build joe's machine you just see how intelligent the assmebly process is with the design of the parts and how easy it is to adjust things. For someone who knew nothing of CNC other than watching a 3 axis at work occassionally to now programming and cutting parts (never thought I would) I can say his machine was a pleasure to build. Finish the JGRO, DIY is about expanding, evolving the machine and making it better. Use the first machine to build the next .
