    Newbe: how do I handle I/O

    Hi, I'm planning a PCB router machine. I like the HobyCNC stepper packages with Mach2 software, but I'm trying to figure out how to interface extra I/O to the system. Anyone have any suggestions?

    You need more than the 5 in and 4 out? I had a velleman usb experimental board lying around, i tried it in mach, with a bit of vb script you can make it work. It has 5ins and 8outs

    Hi,

    Have a look at the ModIO.

    http://homanndesigns.com/store/index...&products_id=4

    It expands the number of inputs and oupts you can control. Additionally, multiple ModIos may be controlled via Mach.

    As to a tool changer application. I have added a toolchanger modules into the ModIO, including Emco PC50 lathe toolchanger , a Mazak lathe and for my own Asian Import lathes toolchanger.

    There is a short movie of the Mazak lather toolchanger working in the files section og the Yahoo ModIO group at;

    http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/modio

    Also, I'm happy to add in custom toolchanger modules to the ModIO if required.

    Cheers,

    Peter.
