What kind of bearings should be used to mount an All-thread rod? It will only have to carry it's own weight, so would thrust bearings work? I am wanting to secure one end of the rod to my table so that the stepper motor end is isolated from the pulling and pushing forces. My table will be made out of MDF so I was thinking I could use two thrust bearings and two nuts on one end of the rod and sandwhich the MDF between the two bearings using a nut on either side. And use two more nuts to lock everything in place.

Also, if Iam using a lovejoy type coupler to attach the rod to the motor will I also need a bearing of some sort on this end, or will the coupler be enough to support the rod?

My rod is 3/4" x 36" Stainless Steel.
