Used CMM based DIY router?

Has anybody made or heard of somebody making a cnc router out of a cmm frame?

There seems to be a few on ebay with granite bases that look very sturdy. Stuff like this: http://images.google.com/images?q=CM...=Search+Images

I've seen some that would work ok. They often end up with very similar designs. And then there are some that wouldn't work without major modification. The shipping charges might kill you though
