Hey guys, I assume you get this thing often.. I am brand new to the whole CNC design/building. I'm not really familiar with everything that goes on with them or what they can do. I know they are a very useful and EXTREMELY accurate tool however when used correctly. However, that is the extent of my knowledge on these machines. I do extensive fabrication with acrylic and this would be a huge help to my efforts. Can I build just a small, say 1 foot x 2 foot or 2 foot x 3 foot CNC machine for home use? The only thing I really need to cut is 1/2" or less thick acrylic. Right now all I have is a 1.5hp plunge router I use in a table and it cuts through this material extremely easily. Could any give me some help here on what I would need to do? Can anyone give me some links to more extensive info on these machines? Is it even possible to do what I would like to? Where can I find plans for such a machine? I heard something about klienbaur(sp?) do they offer plans that would fit my needs? Looking to do this as cheap but effectively as possible. What works?
Thanks in advance!
