    My last CNC

    Hi,

This is my last CNC. Not finished yet but I mounted the cables to the motors to see how it moves. It seems that the structure is OK, the eyes can not notice any flex even if I sit on top of it. The motors are weak. I could not found bigger in the broken printers I found out. I could not find yet other led screws than 1 mm pitch which is giving me a low speed 10 - 15 inches/min. The lead screws are M6. I hope to replace them with trapezoidal screws TR10X3 which are 3mm pitch, so I hope to get some speed, and maybe I will get some bigger steppers - I got some promises. The cabling is not done, just for trials, and controller is PICSTEP, but I plan to use the controllers I got as a gift from some big heart people. The router will be a KRESS, a used one from seconds. Actually, the entirely machine is made from waste and scrap material. The MDF is 15mm thick from a cabinet making workshop. I will finish the machine in few days, cabling, screws, etc...eventually painting and post then other pics. Still, dreaming to build a real machine, but that means components I can not find here or they are too expensive for me, but the dream and determination is stronger, day by day, since March, 2005 when I discovered this great forum. THANK YOU all of you for being here. The machine is made in my apartment and most of the parts are done on my previous machine, the rest are made with hand tools.

PS: I apologize for my English learnt by books.
PS: UPS>>>I can upload the pics...It says file too large. they have 750KB each and the limit is 500KB. HELP. What I can do?

THANK YOU FOR HELP. I hope I did it correctly.

    File compression

    Zoltan,

Most picture manipulation files will allow the saving of a file to Jpeg and changing the resolution while doing so.

In the programs I use it is under options when the file saving dialogue box is open. I hope this helps

Get IrfanView. It has a CROP feature to select only what you need OR a resize feature. This should be all you need to reduce pictures size.

Until you said that it was made out of waste and scrap material, I would have never known. Great looking machine, keep up the great work.
If it's not nailed down, it's mine.
If I can pry it loose, it's not nailed down.

Nice machine there. Gotta use what we have otherwise it never get done. And more, it may then justify an investment when you know it works and what does'nt...

Great learning experience in any way, show us the results when you have it running!
