DIY Spindle ?

Motors are cheap

bearings are cheap

what about the part that holds the collet and bit ? can these be bought, or do they have to be made ? (what is this bit called ? ) EDIT - DOH !! I Guess it's the chuck ?

dot ATC parts work here ?

search ebay for straight shank er20 collet chuck or whatever collet size you want to hold.
if you are interested in atc, search for bt30. you would need a spindle that has the taper to match. I'm not sure if there are ones available with a straight shank to fit inside bearings, which have the taper to accept the holder. If someone were to figure that all out, that would be wonderful.

at the moment, I know next to nothing... but I'll investigate and see what can be done.

after all, 6 months ago, I knew nothing about CNC, now I have built me a machine and use it every day !

Looking at the wiring to the 24v motor, I'd say the power will not be enough for a wood router CNC
