    Question Tramm the spindle?

I have a cnc router where I work, a Vortech. it does not have an adjustable spindle mount, but I was able to twist & shim enough to get it square within .002.
My question is this. On all of the designs I see here, I do not see provisions for tramming the spindle. Are all of these machines built to such exact precision that it is not needed, or am I just missing something.

Along with the rotary axis I am working on for my router, I am designing a new, more precision z-axis with these adjustments built in.

I am just looking for a little input on the subject.

I don't think it's as much a matter of mounting the spindle square as making sure the entire Z carriage assembly runs perpendicular in both directions to the table. If the spindle mount was CNC'd it should be pretty accurate. So I'd test the carriage perpendicularity up and down in both x and y, THEN check spindle squareness.

Well the Vortech router is a Chinese machine that is assembled here in the states. Not the best of quality. It works for what I currently use it for. I have started designing several mods for it. I am also gonna change the linear bearings that are on it from the supported rods to profiled rails, along with my newly designed z axis & rotary axis.
