not the same !
Threaded rod, doesn't have the load rating of square cut ACME (Trapezoidal). That's why I'm changing my Z rod, that I used, just to prove the Z design.
I concede, it might not be that accurate, but most machine drivers these days have mapping capabilities.

How about this?......
WMH Transmissions Ltd - Product List - SIZE 20MM X 4P R.H.
They charge £15 for their shipping but an alternative cheap courier can be arranged if you phone up ie RoyalMail
Still more than the £10 each of the 1st link.
That was the Tamworth link I said I liked last time you linked it. Their Rack and pinion is a very good price !, as are their screws.
It's only about an hour away from me, so I'll probably collect if I order. (3m lengths are usually expensive to ship ! )

I don't know what size to get?
I'm thinking 18mm or 22mm
Weird,the 20mm is £16 odd and the 18mm is £20 odd,gotta be a mistake in the pricing?
whatever the price, remember a larger Dia screw for a given length takes more torque to spin up and slow down, so it depends on your application.

@trickycnc, am not sure what you are trying to show in the links with the clamps as the acme screws look to only be about 6-8inch long so would only be of use for z axis if you can get a matching nut.
@HorridHenry, size of rod would all depend on your design, length of axis and size of motors, pricing might be correct as the 20mm might be a more standard size hence lower cost, worth a call to confirm.
I got my rack and pinion from whm so can fully recommend their service.

opps see tricky posted as i was typing
I'll get it finished sometime after I start it.....
My bed is 800mm long, working area about 700mm@HorridHenry, size of rod would all depend on your design, length of axis and size of motors, pricing might be correct as the 20mm might be a more standard size hence lower cost, worth a call to confirm.
220 oz stepper motors.
No I think its a mistake in price as 22mm is lower than the 20mm
Deleted the bookmark so will have to find it again.
The guy made ballscrews out of Derlin, he cut square Derlin in half, heated up the ACME rod and pressed the two halfs together with a clamp and at the same time heatimg the ACME rod up with a paintstripper gun until the two halfs of Derling met together, let them cool then cleaned em up basically he was maing half nuts but I think once the operation is completed we could glue them together with superglue or Araldite and use a ballnuts.
