here are some Photos of the production process:
this is my first ever made cnc router.
i always wanted to make one but never had the courage to finally begin building one. now i have/am making one
here are the pictures of the initial design and some specs:
-> note that the base of the initial design will be shorter when i actually make the router, i wanted to put the controller in the base of the router but decided afterwards to put it in a seperate box.
Type: fixed gantry
size: 48cm x 62cm x 37cm
cutting surface: 22cm x 44cm
(and the Z-axis can move 8cm up from the cutting surface)
materials base: waterproof multiplex
materials Z-axis: PVC 10mm
controller: Tochiba TB6560
Motors: Nema 23
router: Dremel
here are some Photos of the production process:
i'm still waiting for my bearings to arrive so here's an update.
the machine is almost complete, just have to add the bearings and putting the Z-axis and the cutting table on. the controller is also ready.
saw these cable label ty-wraps and got the idea to also use them for cable managing. when drilling 2 holes in the 'label' you can screw these on your machine and strap your cables on like you can see in the picture(s):
looks very well executed. Are you planning on using all thread for your leadscrews?
Looks good! And good call on the name too!
Very nice! Thanks for sharing your pics. Great idea for cable management!
goddamnit!!!
about a week ago i recieved my cnc controller kit from Ebay and it didn't work!
even worse, the board fried up after 10 minutes....
ok, no problem i thought because the seller agreed to send me a new one for free as it could be a production failure of the board.
today i recieved that new board, connected it and only 2 out of 3 axis outputs worked, the other motor just turned VERRY slowly while twitching :s
and after 5-10 minutes the board fried up AGAIN!!!!!
what the hell is wrong with these boards!?!?!?
ps: i checked everything 3-4 times before testing it, software settings & hardware connections :O
Maybe get a refund and try a different vendor..

Are those chips heat sunk in any way? I see washer outlines, but no threads.
I feel your pain; can you get a gecko ? Their products are stable and well supported at the source and on the fora.
That is what I run Gecko G540..
G540 4-Axis Motor Control

yes, there's a cooling-plate atatched to them with a fan on top, i just had removed it because i wanted to replace one of the exploded chips with a not-exploded one from my other controller just to test it.
and a Geko is more expensive. i made this for a school project so i had a small budget where i canot get over. these boards were 85$ while a Geko G540 is 300$ and i cant spent this kind of money anymore.
