Hi everyone,
Its come time for me to upgrade my current CNC (JGRO) to a larger, more capable unit. There are really 2 designs that interest me mostly. Joes 4x4 Hybrid and the CNC Router Parts 48x48
From what I have read I believe the Joes should put in at around $1500 AUD for the machine alone. I have Electronics, Computer, Software and a Router already. I will be using a large torsion box workbench for the base of either machine for storage space so that will reduce some costs involved with the 8020 or Unistrut required.
Is the CRP4848 more expensive to build then a Joes 4x4 machine? Which machine has it over the other?
Around 80% of the time I cut MDF, Melamine and plywood and occasionally I cut Alloy for smaller hobby projects.
Looking for experience of others who may have had the same questions, and which way did you go and why?
Cheers for any help,
John
