    Looking for Stepper Standoffs

    Hello:

I'm searching for stepper standoffs. I need to buy them.
Someone posted a link here for plastic standoffs few weeks back. But forum search returned me zero.

Will be glad if you know the source...who sells them.

    Thanks

McMasters has them, but you have to buy 100....

Lowes has them in the little drawers with the odd hardware parts.

But...by the time you pay for them individually, you may be better
    off just buying 100.

You'd have 80+ left to share with your fellow zoners....

    Thanks John.
Seems they are not interested to ship international.

By the way, I see thay have two different types: Nylon and Phenolic. Which one is stronger?

The only advantage to them is they're all
the same length, making them easy to deal with.

For what it costs to get them, an aluminum tube
cut into sections works as well, looks great, and is
likely easy for you to get.
A little work getting them the exact same length, but It'd
probably save you $20 in the long run.

If you really-really want nylon, I'll send you some if you
want to pay the shipping. I'm not sure where BGD is so
I have no clue what that could cost....

    Nylon or Phenolic...

Phenolic is a harder material. Nylon works fine.

If you have a lathe and mill available, these are simple to make.
A 1.5" PVC pipe cut to length then slotted, mounted with 4 bolts.

BTW...cheap...and sometimes really nice looking spacers can
be just cut up from larger knitting needles.

All nice and anodized. Some are nice and thick too.
They can often be found in junk stores for next to nothing.

A pipe cutter is helpful for getting aluminum tubes evenly cut sometimes.
