hi all,
here's a solids works design i have spent tons of time and cash designing around all the parts i have purchased to buld this mill.
any opinions would be great.
basic details
about 6 foot tall,850mm wide by 850mm deep
table ize 585mm x 350m x 16mm thick
15mm rails on x and y,14 mm precision ground 14mm ballscrews
4 20 amp axis rutex drives
all plate is 16mm thick aluminium
all square tube is 100x100x3mm aluminium extrusion

machine is nearly ready to bolt together(probably 2 or 3 weeks till i start bolting.

Looks great, nice concept. The only thing that stands out to me is that the gantry is very high and your z axis is likely to flex when you are plunged down into your material. I run about 3" of clearance at my highest z setting and find it is plenty of room, and no flex.
