Their about 30.00 a bearing and than you have to buy the concentric bolts.

They are a fortune if you buy the assemblies. Like 500.00 for a truck with four rollers and a cover. Pretty rediculous. I just snagged 2 lo-pro trucks and short rails off ebay for 90.00 each. There's one more still there. They are beutiful assemblies, perfect Z axis. What are you gonna do with the rollers, just out of curiosity? Are you using your rail or thiers?
Thinking about it, you might consider the lo pro on ebay, as it has 4 rollers, two straight, and two eccentric posts all together, for 89.00. Thats alot less than youll spend buying everything seperate from Bishop.

I have a chinese mate who says he can supply them for $6.18 each so long as you buy 100 of them. You dont really need the concentric bolt, I dont use that, just a normal bolts fitted into a slightly biggger hole.
I recon these are one of the best of the cheapest linear bearing arrangement around. Shopbot uses them too.
I wish I had known about him b4 I bought mine. I payed $50 AU each for 12 of them. For that price I could have nearly bought 100 from Mr Hu

I have bought the bearings, eccentrics, and track from a local bearing distributor and found the price to be reasonable. I made my own carriages and ways for the Vee track. We used them in machines we made and were pleased woth the results.

I am getting ready to place an order with yi-tong and I have a few questions before I do. Does anyone know what size bearings are in the shopbot? They look like the W3s. Please let me know if this is true.

Canopy, what are you doing about the rails? Are you making them? I think theyre supposed to be hardened? I would love to find some long rails for the Bishop carraiges I have, I can get 1 meter lengths from them for 108.00 which isnt so bad.

Oh, about the rails, I just use angle iron. Sounds real crappy but it works well. Just keep in your mind it is a cheap consumable. I run a real heavy gantry on the rails and after the initial seating of the bearings into the iron it is fine. I dont think you will regret this setup, even if it does sound crude.
EDIT I use the W2 size, ( I Think) the second smallest ones.

Well that explains why you dont need the conncentric's. The Bishop system uses two( or more ) across the top of a rail, and then clamps or secures to the opposite side of the rail with the concentric bearings. I can see how your setup would be great for a gantry system, just let the weight of the tram hold the bearings down.

Yes the weight of the "tram"holds it down, but I also have a flat bearing on the underside if the rails so as to stop it from bucking upon acceleration / deceleration.
