I am using way oil on mine, I got my way oil from mcmaster and it works great, super smooth. I have had them spinning near 1050rpm with no complaining.

Greetings all,
I have the 5/8" rolled ball screws on my machine and they work okay. However, they will bind up from time to time and I just squirt a little silicone spray lube on them and it seems to be okay again for a while.
I would like to use regular oil but I know that the dust would collect on the screws and turn them into "Chia pet" looking things.
Does anyone have any recomendations for ball screw lubricants?
TIA
Chris

How do you keep all the wooddust from sticking to the screws?

Try mounting some brushes on each end of the screw to keep it clean. Or, check if there are seals available for the nuts you're using. Some people here have made seals by applying a bead of hot melt glue to the nut. With the screw oiled, the glue won't stick to the screw, only the nut.
