I've got most of the background design worked out for my first project. Increased my budget from $250 to $500, decided on flying gantry with a 14" x 24" bed. Went for decent 80/20 framing, frelon linear slides, Vexta stepers, HobbyCNC Pro chopper drive, etc. Purpose is to cut thin fiberglass G10 boards @.125 thick, etch PC boards and very light aluminum work-engraving. The one thing I'm stalled on is choice of lead screw/nuts and their method of attachement to the moving planes. Also support for the non driven end of lead screw, particularly the X axis. Link to a simple sketch or picture of a KISS setup would be greatly appreciated. remeber I'm on a tight budget ![]() Thanks |
