So, I bought a vacuum pump and took it apart. PIC

I bought a vacuum pump for my DIY CNC's vacuum clamping assembly. When I manually turn the unit it sounds like metal touching metal. I opened it up and everything looks really good, just a little gunk.






Since it's oilless and the seals have no damage I am just going to clean that one spot of gunk and reassemble the pump without adding lubrication. That's right. right? No lubrication of any kind?

Ok, silly me. The noise are just the metal flaps resonating in the air flow. IDK their technical name.
