Just finishing up my machine and about to start investigating which router/spindle to buy, and which tools are best to use. At first i was just going to use router bits but it doesn't look like anyone uses them, i keep reading about end mills but I'm not sure if these are only compatible with spindles or can routers be adjusted to fit these also?? Thanks |

| Router bits are fine to use, and imo, are the correct choice. However, many get good results with metal cutting endmills, which can be much cheaper. I've used some small 1/16" ballnose endmills that I got for $5 each on Ebay, with very good results. As long as you use the correct size bit for your collet, you can use either.

| I use a porter cable 690 and bought three seperate colets 1/2, 1/4 and 3/8 to hold varios size bits with different shanks. Also have a adapter from K2 that holds 1/8. but right now I,m in the market for a adapter that will hold 3/32 shank. Anyone know where to get one for my router. |
