Hi all, have built my own cnc router and everything seems ok except when cutting circles, the router will make a perfect circle but all three steppers start making a very loud screaming noise, sounds like a siren! this noise is not present on straight lines, never been around a cnc router before the build, so Im not sure if this is normal or not, any info on what this might be? |

| If the circles are cut correctly, it's probably just normal stepper noise. Can you post a video so we can here the noise?

There's been a some chatter over on the mach yahoo pages about certain driver version making a siren noise. Mach's driver doesn't lock the frequency and it fluctuates up n down causeing this siren noise. |

Don't have any means of making video at this time, but siren noise is just like the old 1950's style of police siren, I am using Xylotex driver and Quickstep software, like I said cnc router is preforming great, just the noise has me concerned |

| If the bigger the circle, the more "siren like" the sound, then it's probably normal.

| Yeah.....that's why I posted it. When I fired up my first CNC it sounded like it was singing when making arcs. They steppers were pretty small....only 80 in/oz. My latest sounds a lot like this one....628 in/oz....sounds great to me. |

my first seup sounded nasty , 50 oz motors with the stepperworld board , it almost sounded like grinding when doing circles . but it was enough to push me further into bigger and better stuff
