Advice for a Complete Newb on DIY CNC

Hi, i stumbled upon this website a few days ago and after reading posts, became extremely interested in DIY CNC. I'm a 20 year old college student and with my semester ending in 1 month, I wanted to try my hand at making a small CNC router. Something like 12in. x 10in. x 1in. I would really appreciate it if someone could give me some advice or point me in the right direction to information and plans, or any reading material. Any response will be greatly appreciated. I'm 16 and I basically made my own CNC Router, it took a lot of research and some help of the tricks of the trade with my Dad for the building. Just do a google on home or hobby cnc, read all of these posts, and ask questions. I learned all sorts of things, not only CNC programming, but building, reading electrical schematics and putting them to use and actually wiring them, I understand other machines and I imagine how to put this knowledge of controlled motion to other uses. It's really cool.
