I'm planing on putting together a small, crude, CNC milling machine for metal working. (there may be a more appropriate forum on here, but i couldn't fined it) I still need to read a lot of info on here before i can figure out where i need to start. I'm planing on making this as inexpensively as possible, which i've found leads to a greater understanding of the equipment. I don't have a high expectation of the first machine i make, i just want it to be able to make parts for a better machine. |

| I think your best bet would be to convert a mill. I'm not sure if this is the recommended HF one to do it with but I know a lot of people have converted one of the mills from HF http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=44991 Once you add up your needed materials, the price of a spindle etc, to work metal, it's hard to beat a mill conversion for price and performance. |
